I'm in the Triad area in NC and I have a 9 month old roo that I'd like to rehome. I'm planning to start breeding Augsburgers and I don't have a separate pen to keep my current roo. I'd thought about culling him since he is a very big boy but my son informed me that he just isn't ready to eat a chicken that he's known personally so I promised him that I'd find him a new home. Now what happens once at that new home, I don't want to know. If you get my meaning.

He does treat my hens well and he hasn't shown any tendency to be rough with them. If you are interested, please let me know.

I just read a post from Marty1876 who was looking for a Lavender Orpington Roo!

I should of looked before sending you the message..your Roo is beautiful!!

No problem. I just wish I could find someone who would like to keep him. I figured that with the increase of people wanting lavs of any breed it wouldn't be too hard. Guess I was wrong.

With the way that the post office has been losing shipped chicks this year, I'm not sure it's all that safe to ship if not necessary. I've heard of more lost chickens this year than any other time.

Anyway, I was just contacted by a woman who is coming to pick up the roo on Saturday morning so he now has a home. Thanks for the interest.
