Free range chickens not laying rich bright yokes

I stopped leaving pellets out all the time and are just feeding them morning and afternoon. I think they have become lazy and don't want to graze and find bugs. please any ideas?

What breed do you have? Some are just better foragers than others.

I have at least 5 different breeds.
I was keeping layer pellets all the time
I have lots of weeds mixed with Johnson grass.
