Moony…So you have three hens, get three eggs a day and all three are different colors and you thought you only had one hen laying?
Oh that's![]()
When you put it like that!! I am a noob, i dont know much about it i am learning as I go ^_^So you have three hens, get three eggs a day and all three are different colors and you thought you only had one hen laying?

No worries. Also, each hen isn’t going to lay every day. Sometimes you’ll only get one egg. When you put it like that!! I am a noob, i dont know much about it i am learning as I go ^_^
Yes but when i came home that day, i found 2 eggs, brown ones. The issue has existed prior to the attack. But maybe each of them are indeed laying an egg, since they are all different colors sometimes and sometimes there is just 1 white one- most of the timew they are brown and light brown.
I just noticed your avatar, that’s excelllent!Had me confused with an earlier post but now knowing you are getting eggs in 3 different colors then they are indeed all laying!
Yes one egg a day per hen with the occasional day off. Some take a few days off.
In the fall when days get shorter they won't lay as much if at all until days get longer after winter solstice.
It's all good. Even us that aren't noobs are still learning. When you put it like that!! I am a noob, i dont know much about it i am learning as I go ^_^
I am a relative newby myself and inherited Rhode Island Red chickens when we bought our new place. Mine are about 4 and I get one egg every other day. I used to have 7 hens but have lost 5 due to unknown reasons. I do believe if they are over-treated they lay less because they get full on treats and do not eat enough of the layer pellets. Will they ever lay? Or are they too old? The one laying is a brown buff orpington, The other 2 are a leggin and a gray orpington.
I pamper them, and also allow them to free range during the day.
Feeding them organic layer pellets and they dont like it. Also meal worms and fruit and veggie scraps.
