Got 4 yr old chickens about 2 months ago and only one of them has been laying

Nope, hens lay the same color every time. Sounds like all 3 are laying.

Leghorns lay white eggs and Orpingtons lay light tan, so I don’t know what the brown bird is if she’s laying the dark brown egg. Pretty!

I got 3 grown hens from someone. One didn't take long to start laying. The 2nd one took probably 2 months. My last one, (a leghorn) I just finally just got my first egg from! It took her 3 months to get comfortable, and she was also spoiled. Now she lays every day/every other.

It's hard and I was ready to give up on Dolly, my leghorn, but she's pretty faithful with laying now! Don't give up just yet. That shock really does take a toll on some of them.

However, that being said, it depends on if you want more pets or production. They are older...I would give them some more time but eventually you gotta make a decision. Good luck

Are these these the hens that were scared and missing? If so, shock can also keep them from laying for a bit.

yes but this was going on before that happened. And whats awesome is when I found them last night (same day of the attack) I found 2 eggs in the coop

Hmm. I never knew that. so maybe they all are laying at least 1. ^_^ which would make sense as to why its always 3 a day lol

Three a day is very good! I have only 4 birds (2 are younger), and generally get only 2 eggs a day. We have a mealworm party when I get 3

My 2yo hens took almost 2 months to start laying after I purchased them.

Yes but when i came home that day, i found 2 eggs, brown ones. The issue has existed prior to the attack. But maybe each of them are indeed laying an egg, since they are all different colors sometimes and sometimes there is just 1 white one- most of the timew they are brown and light brown.
