I have two toulouse geese and two indian runner ducks who have been together since the day they hatched. They are about 6-8 weeks old and thriving. I would like to let them free-range during the day and pen them in a 12x12 dog run at night.
How do I get them to stop following me when they are outside?

They think you are the lead goose/duck. Eventually, you'll become less necessary and they won't follow as much. Give it some time.

Mine still do. I had to put their wading pool up near the backyard fence so they can watch us while they swim. They walk me to the car, follow me to the mailbox. They just want to be with us all the time. I think that's just how they are! I like it though! [IMG]

Quote:This has been my experience as well. You could bribe them into the 12x12 run by throwing in some lettuce greens - mine will go anywhere for romaine lettuce [IMG].
