Free Range Muscovies

About the only way you'll get to handle them would be to herd everyone into a building [barn, duck house]  It's going to be stressful no mater what you do. Might be best to remove mama temp while you hold handle the ducklings. I usually don't handle my ducklings unless emergency until mama decides she is through with them, and then only when necessary like wing.clipping. I'd put ducklings into a large box with old clean towels on the bottom to keep the ducklings from slidding all over while transporting.  I usually cut windows in the sides of the box and tape the plastic poultry fence to it so they can have good air flow while traveling.
I've found if you make it quick and calm them down quickly, that's the fastest way to teach them you aren't going to eat them. I guess that's what you're asking how to do, huh? (Well, quoted the wrong one...but anyway...sorry P!)

how do you calm down your ducks?? I know everyone does it differently but I would like to try each method!

I have heard that the ducklings will try to come back to where they were born/grew up if they are moved away. Is this true??

I currently have my baby scovies in a pen. When should I let them out of the pen to start roaming with their mother?? Also, when are the babies old enough to be around our male scovy?

Is it normal for muscovy siblings to fight and pick on each other?? Should I separate them?
