Free Range Question

I live on 2 acres surrounded by subdivisions on 3 sides and my little herd free range all the time. Our Roo is very observant of the sky and lets out the call if "ANY" bird flies over. He stays very busy watching the sky considering our 4th side is a lake with seagulls

Poor Feller!

We have only had 1 casualty to a hawk and that was a young chick over a year ago. We don't have any other predators around here. We do have lots of scrubs and bushes they can run to in case of an attack.

Good luck with what you decide.

We used to let the chickens out free range every day. They were fine. Of course, our backyard is covered from the top with trees, which makes hawk chances about 2%. Do you live in a hawky, catty, or doggy place??
You can let them out if you don't. That's a big nono if you do.
