free range stray dog attack in the burbs

My three RIR were attacked yesterday in our yard by a stray dog. My daughter sent our dog out and chased him up the street, but we can't find one of the hens; the other two ended up back in the coop. Its been that sweltering heat and one of them must've had a bit of somekind, because we have a clump of feathers.
This morning, I couldn't get them to come out of the coop - so I fed them in there and left the door open. The eventually came out, but just seem a mess.
I'm concerned about their health due to the stress and the heat. Any suggestions?

I dont know if it will help, but I put Chik Saver in my birds water. Kind of like gatoraide. I hope it helps with the heat stress. As for the dog... have you tried animal control? I am sure he will be back if he got a taste...

we did call animal control and we're trying to keep our dog out to keep the others dogs at bay ...
