free range turkey

can I free range turkeys during the day I do my chickens? I was wondering if I free range them if they go in the coop at dark just like my chickens do.

Turkeys might be harder than chickens saying that they're eyesight is a bit different and if they get stuck in the dark where they're blind as a bat they might not make it in the coop. Mine never went in their coop at night and I had to heard them every day or put the light on. But I think it's worth a try.

what breed are your turkeys? are they a heritage, meat, or wild breed? the wild turkeys tend to be flighty, the meat breeds are easy targets for predators, and most of the heritage turkeys are ok for that.
