free range turkeys

I have 4 Blue slates 3 hens 1 tom . I would like to let them free range but I'm afraid they will wonder off and not come back to roast . So I have kept them penned up . My question is if I let them out will they stay close or will they take off ?. They are about a year old and they are laying eggs and one is setting on them.Will that keep the others close or will that matter ?

If they are a year old and are used to the pen, they will stay around. I suggest let one of them out to wander around, let her come back in, etc. In a few days they will all have the picture.

You may want to consider to trim thier flight feathers. You only need to do one side

They wont come back if they know they're the "roast".
