for egg size, the breed of the bird is more important than the ranging of the bird, which should not affect size.

Free range eggs are higher in omega-3s and certainly have darker colored yolks than eggs from confined birds, but if you do have to confine your birds all the time, you can supplement their diet with fresh greens and things. Just make sure they have plenty of space for the number of birds you have in the coop/ coop and run.
