Free range...?

I think that when they get older they will venture further away but not too far away. I had two ducks now I just have the one and she hangs out with my four chickens. The hens venture alot further then the duck if they get too far away she comes waddling back to the backyard all the while quacking her arrival to the yard and looking for me. I know I'm her duck buddy and she is always looking for reassurance from me, likes shes saying "Momma don't leave me!" In fact as I'm typing this she is on my deck looking through the sliding glass door!
