I'm new to this forum and new to raising chickens. My husband and I bought 25 freedom ranger meat chickens. They a will be 6 weeks old this Sunday. Went to check on them tonight to find one sitting on his bum with his legs in front of him. Any ideas what's wrong?

Hello and
welcome-byc.gif

Injury can do this but also vitamin deficiency. Niacin I think is what people use for this. I don't know, I've never had any spraddling except genetic and injury caused ones.

There's a lot of birds suffering deficiency diseases (like one type of spraddling is) which should not be occurring on a complete diet as the labels claim the feeds are, so as a precaution it's best to give them additional nutrition and not trust the labels.

Best wishes.
