We have 2 white broad breasted turkeys. They are, of course, meat birds.

I would like to get them out of the pens for some fresh grass and bugs, etc.

Can they free range with the hens or is it not a good idea?

Thanks-
Em

I had couple last year and I let mine free range

Ours free ranged, and they approached 30 pounds! They had feed too, of course. I'd definitely recommend ranging!

At what age did you begin free ranging them? Ours are approaching 8 weeks, and have well outgrown the chicks they're housed with.

Thanks again!!

Wow! What kind were they? Ours were the regular Broad-Breasted Whites, and they weren't that big. But maybe you just fed yours longer... or you had a nice strain...
