Free rooster ad on Craigslist...interesting response

I've been selling online for years, and it never ceases to amaze me what some folks will come up with! That's definitely a keeper, Wynette!

Unbelievable - she replied:

I thought so, but I read the listing obviously not very well. Thats why i asked. I lost your listing, but had your email. We have two chickens one rooster and one hen. I am not sure if that would work or not? We are not major farmers, just have a few for kids and wanted some eggs. The hen isn't settled yet so no eggs, but we purchased her from the montrose gathering not too long ago for that reason. Lady said they would lay, none yet.

We've had chickens in the past and never had this problem. Oh well, let me know what you think? Do they fight if you have two boys also??

Now I'm feeling a little guilty for poking fun...she obviously is a pretty innocent person that just doesn't know any better. Still amazes me that peeps go buy a few chickens not knowing a thing about raising them. Of course, I directed her to BYC! Maybe I should delete this thread...​

If you want to see the scammers come out of the wood work post an ad that says hunting (such an such breed) puppy. For the fun of it make up a breed name. You will get inundated with people in other country clamming to have said puppy that they can no longer keep but will ship to you for $100.

To further make it even more interesting, I never said a WORD about his personality, nor did I mention eggs. SERIOUSLY?

I replied:

Um......this is a rooster (a male) - they do not lay eggs. He's just an extra rooster that I don't need for breeding, so I offered him on Craigslist.

I can't type what I WANTED to reply.​
