I wish to place a fairly large,about 20 by 20 free standing cage around a portion of my compost pile. I will likely build it with 2 by 4 and some wire and nothing fancy. My main question are about securing the bottom of ther structure where it meetsd th ground, and whether I need a roof. Part of the roof question is involved in whether i want birds to have accesss to the compost as well. Thanks and great forum
