I have what the internet tells me is a white male homing pigeon (Can not guarantee this is accurate as I have no pigeon knowledge) who has voluntarily moved into my chicken run and has decided not to leave. I have done everything that I can think of to attempt to find the bird's owner -- posting on multiple forums and sites and contacting various pigeon clubs and animal control but have had no success. The bird has a leg tag but it does not have a number.

He (she?) is currently squatting with my chickens but I am doubting this is a good situation for anyone involved. I am in Los Angeles but frequently drive down to San Diego. Does anyone in the So Cal area have pigeons and would want an addition? I have looked him over and do not see any visible injuries or odd-ness but I really only know chickens so who knows. He eats and poops and wanders around my yard and makes dove-y sort of noises when displeased but I have yet to see him fly much. I would love to see him have a nice home but really do not have the space or time to care for any additional creatures at this point and I assume he would be quite lonely in his current situation.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You could try and move him into a parakeet cage for the time being. Are his wings clipped?

I really wanna take him... He's so cute! Unfortunately I think I live too far away... ((but there's a thing called shipping)) "No, Kira!!"

Hello! If you still have him/her, we could take it off your hands. Next fall the 4h group is looking to start with pigeons and my son has expressed interest. We are in North San Diego County.

Hello
I was just wondering if your pigeon happened to be wearing a plain red legband? Several months ago, I had a white homing pigeon fly away and never returned. He was fairly young, and was wearing a red band. I do not recall if the band was on the right or the left leg, but I purchased the bird from Keith Casserta of Mechanicsburg, Ohio. I've been hoping that someone would have found him. I live in Alabama. I would gladly take him if we could arrange shipping.

No red band sorry to say. I have someone local who has offered him a home. If it does not work out for some reason I will let you know right away.

I am looking for a white homing pigeon for my son as a Christmas gift. Do you still have the beauty?
I am hoping to start a hobby for my son and was hoping for a mom and dad. This would get us a good start.
I live in Escondido which in on the way to San Diego. (30 minutes north)

Let me know.
