Freebird the Araucana

She's very pretty, but she isn't an Araucana. Looks like an Easter Egger. Araucanas have tufts and are rumpless. She looks happy and healthy though

While we are on the subject, I thought aruacanas were rumpless and very rare; ameracaunas had muffs, beards, black legs and bred true; and easter eggers were essentially "mutts" that didnʻt breed true but did lay blue & green eggs.

Iʻve looked at the "official" afficianado sites for these breeds and they do get their noses out of joint over technical issues, but this is the simplest way for this layman to distinguish these three breeds which seem to often be used interchangeably.

Anyone have a better way to distinguish them?
