Freecycle ad just rubbing me wrong.

Saw this on our local freecycle today and just about fell over.

I don't WANT a paddle, I NEED a paddle. We are having some disciplinary issues with our son and timeouts and regular spankings aren't working. He's gotten the paddle once at school so we figured if we get one it will scare him straight! (Or we'll wear it out trying!)


This just really disturbs me. I emailed the mod and will let them decide it's appropriateness. I feel it's very inappropriate.

What rubs you wrong? The fact that its such a strange ad, or the fact that they are disciplining their child?

The fact that they are asking for something to beat their kid with.

Kinda an odd place to post that. Of all places I wouldnt think you would go on freecycle and say something like that.



Correct me if Im wrong, but when you post on freecycle dont you just post what you are looking for. Not why you are looking for it?

Beating their kid in your opinion is probably very different than theirs. I dont know about you, but people worrying about other peoples kids is the reason why kids are so far gone these days. My mother used to chase us around the house with one of those paddles that had the rubber band and ball attached. And in elementary school, if we misbehaved the nun threw us over her knee in front of the entire class for a paddeling.
