Freezer Camp For The Whole Flock!!!!!!!!!

Nurishment does play a very big part in laying. If they are getting too many treats and not eating the layer ration then that could put them off laying.
Feed them an 18% layer and no treats, with the light it may get them back into lay but it will take time. It won't be an overnight thing.

Have you by chance tried upping their protein intake? They sell pellets that are 18% or even 20% that might get them going. Also, have you tried golf balls or other 'fake eggs' in the coop? I've read that can stimulate production as well. For those that have posted that chickens aren't machines, true, but for a great many people they are part of the food chain, not pets, and economics dictate they lay eggs or get eaten. It might not hurt to keep a quarter of your flock through the winter and see what happens with them in the Spring, if you do decide to process them. At least that way, you're not totally starting from scratch in the spring, and if they lay, you could get a rooster and raise chicks from your existing birds. Good luck, either way!

Well, like others are saying... Check around anywhere your girls range. My polish hen started laying, and she didn't use the nesting box at first... Leaves were much fluffier and felt better on her bottom

when my Sammy was laying, she was also hiding eggs. My dogs figured it out before I did

Other than that, my offer stands if you are anywhere near PA. I would definitely take some off your hands

25 hens and 34 weeks....something just sounds seriously amiss. This is a lot of birds and a long time with no eggs...not an isolated or couple of birds.

Ha. You guys crack me up. I am sure they are not roosters. Sure they are not too fat. Well maybe a couple, but most are not. HA.

Also, no mixed vibes, would love for them to start. But fact is they will either lay, or they will go to freezer.

However, I guess I can wait a bit longer. Don't want anyone on here thinking there is a mass chicken killing going on down Texas way. Besides it is still deer season so I really won't have time till deer season is over and then duck season. So I guess I can give them till at least February or so.

Thanks to all.

Ha. Maybe by spring I will be back on here asking what to do with all the eggs.

Good day to all.

Im in the same boat. Hatched some out and nothing..

Then I discovered they have fowl pox. That will stop laying long before it even shows up..

i got that many birds and onl get maybe get one egg a day to cold or not a nough light in the day i was told but they do make good soup to ha ha ha but they will lay more than you can eat inspring for sure
