sorry to hear Friday.

if we had a fist bump emoti thingy, I'd bump ya......

Thanks. Sad things are an occupational hazard for me. When I open a chart and I get the warning "You are entering the record of a deceased patient. Are you sure you want to proceed?" I know it's not going to be a good day for me, especially because I work in Pediatrics. Most days my charts are good, but then I get a run of sad ones.

Friday.

never do that, but ........dayumn......that's terrible.

with our youngest son, he had pyloric stenosis (sp?) the folks at the Texas Childrens were amazing. the nurses, truly cared about each of the babies. I gained a true appreciate for those nurses. Many of them coming by even after they were shifted to another floor or section of the hospital. They truly cared. Then the volunteers that came in just to rock and coo to the infants that had no mothers, or their mothers were in the hospital, because of labor difficulties and couldn't be with their sick babies.

I ain't never cried like I did, watching the nurses on that floor, when one of those little ones passed away. and the look of complete stricken grief, on the looks of the volunteer when she walked in.

tell you what, I retract my fist bump.

have another.

It's like learning to drink Turkey. You gotta water it down at first, but eventually the Diet Coke is just to make you feel a little better about yourself

Thanks, I needed that.

I've worked in Hospital Quality for a long time. You see the absolute best things and the absolute worst things. Just some days it's hard to close the chart and move on.

So I come to BYC and see what goofy things my friends have been up to. It helps.

Metal came in for my coop roof, so I'm off to install while we have daylight left. I have to run the screwdriver ya know.

If I don't return, I may have fallen...
