Phil, I'm sure you already know this. Downsize your hooks and your bait. Or, double drop, larger bait top smaller bait on bottom same size hooks. You might be able to snag one with the lower hook.

I find that if you put a tiny amount of bait of the very tip of the hook it catches their lip almost every time (Unless its a bluegillSnowing at two inches a hour!

Nice. I just meant the bluegill almost always steal the bait and don't get hookedHeck, around here ya just need to stick a finger in the water and the blue gill come nibbling, I've even caught them in an empty milk jug.
