SC, I think my Bev Davis pullets might have started laying but I'm not sure. I hope they are much darker than this fairy egg.

That egg you showed me this weekend looked more like a Davis egg. Hopefully this one is from one of the other hens. I've never gotten a wind egg from my LF, only the silkies
The Tater tot eggs are that color, and kind of oblong. The Davis hens I added later in the summer laid a beautiful, huge, dark egg. I didn't really know their lineage, though, so I sold them with Tate and the others. I've got 6 of his pullets in with a blue AM rooster, but I will replace them with some culls from the new flock this winter.

I think it's a good idea. They should have done that in the flock line about 2 generations ago
