French frogs

Is it a full, actual crow like a co.... rooster?  Are you sure its a hen??  :D

Oh, that's a loaded question around here....

Morning folks!

Good morning to you! Yes she definitely is a hen! It's not a full out crow like a rooster but it's definitely a crow. Generally it's 4 syllables.

Here's the Oz flock. I'm really happy with these chicks. I've shown Mrs. Flock SQ silkies before and she hasn't seemed too impressed, but she died over yours last night. I have a feeling the Flocks will invade Oz Farm later in the spring :thumbsup
Look at those fluffy muffs!!!!! Those a super cute!!!
Isidore died last night :hit :hit :hit :hit
Oh no!!!! :hugs
So I looked up NPIP a bit and I'm still confused. Do you have to be NPIP to ship live birds and eggs? Or just live birds? I know if you are NPIP you are supposed to only buy birds and eggs from NPIP breeders.
I am NPIP however....I have birds that were too young to be tested and I have purchased eggs from breeders that are not NPIP. They test every year. So if the birds are healthy more than likely you won't have Pullorum. But. When I am due for testing all of them will be old enough. Lol!!!
:highfive: So there is no real enforcement? I know folks without NPIP ship eggs across state lines all the time. I have also heard of folks shipping birds without NPIP papers and the post office doesn't ask. I'm still thinking about doing it, but that's a strange thing.
I have never shipped eggs....but I plan on shipping eggs this spring. You don't have to have the documents unless you plan to ship a lot. I have the booklet because I asked for it. And one lady had to go through and sign the whole thing.

I hope you all have a great week & thanks so much for making me feel welcome here.

On a side note.....what temp and humidity should I keep duck eggs at??? Can I incubate them with chicken eggs?? And keep humidity about 30%?

Jay says he lures the girls into the coop, and does his thing. I have never seen him do it. So the purple love shack is a hit. Crafty boy.

Still hate it

I think you'll find that a vast majority of the regulars here probably don't think of 1989 as all that long ago

I don't know that I'm going to ship eggs. If it goes badly, it's almost always blamed on the seller. I think I'm going to stick with eggs for friends, but chicks for sales

You are welcome! Just don't forget to come back.

I did it, but I really think it depends on the breeds. And of course, ducks take a week longer to hatch than chickens, so stagger accordingly.

Shell conditions play a big part. I won't likely incubate my duck eggs with any bantam eggs again, because the bantams lose moisture quicker.

But yes, 30ish should work with ducks also, just watch your air cells. I'd also recommend reading up on misting duck eggs during incubation! I haven't done it, but I think I will next time.

See that's why you should have your disclaimer stating that once the eggs leave your hands you can't guarantee hatch rates because you don't know how the postal service handles the package. From there. ..it's not your fault. They can't blame you! ;)

Thanks!!!! I will watch them closely. I am going to use my other still air at hatch time for chicks!!! ;)
