French frogs

you know I have found over the years they bring all they bring at the sale barn . they hit 350 to 400 lbs. they gone . but cattle operations are smaller around here and we have good sale barns close by . but it is an ever changing market . So guessing weight is important . in your case think I would run a few head through a sale and see what happens when the grass is growing of course . 60 head calved last spring . early spring you guys must have some going over 600 lbs. little large for feeder calves . and by the time the grass is growing good with good feed your looking at 700 plus . that is of course depending on average weight of you brood cows and Bulls . 100 head is a good number to have . sounds like your DH knows what he is doing .bet he can guess the weight pretty close .

Your numbers are pretty close. We are organic and completely grassfed so we have slower growth. we also calve late (easier on momma and calf) We generally do not start calving until April. We keep them on the cow for a year and them wean them to grass. We sell them then before year 2. Generally we get weights around 700, a bit bigger from steers, less from heifers.

I don't know if I should let the ducks out...they are calling for high gust later today......50+ on the open lake...nothing to break the wind on the ice on Great lakes
