Not too shabby, Flock... :thumbsup
A couple new quail pics. Love the little white one. If more of those hatch next week, I might just save this one.
Cute little buggers... :hugs glad he's doing better... hang in there, he'll be home soon...
LOL. She's half cuckoo. Loved to sit on eggs, got ticked when they tried to hatch.
Had 1 self blue OEGB that started attacking and killing chicks as soon as they hatched... she got kicked off the nest and isn't allowed to brood anymore... but most of mine have been awesome... have half of my Ohiki down with the broody bug... will see how they do...
One more neat pic I took the other day:
Tiny bodies, huge attitudes, lol...
That's just crazy it ate my reply. But that is wonderful news!
My Aussie/Orps are laying great... usually 4 eggs a day outta 4 hens, sometimes 3... gonna hatch a bunch of theirs for Easter and about 50% should be Lav...

Colonel is smarter than I gave him credit, sends the pawns into battle

I think he might be trying to take the Colonel's place!

Hopefully by next week though, it will just be the two of them left to battle each other. I'm planning to get the OEGBs out of there. (they have 5 new "older" ladies coming!)

First batch of Marans in the incubator!

First offspring from my Foley pair. I think they are looking really good.

Dad, Mom and firstborn SLW in the background. Two project birds in the foreground for comparison.
I have decided that the SLW juvies that I have that I thought were partially laced are actually cockerels. SLW cockerels often have black hackles when young. I also looked at their combs and wattles and concluded they are cockerels.

I don't think Cogburn has given the LW's any attention yet. I'm taking his bea out for the weekend to see if he can get to know the other ladies.

The good news is I have some nice Foley chicks to raise and choose from. I did not like only having two alive. It made them high priority targets for predators and sickness.
