Shouldn't have too much effect, if he's right handed, its his left thumb. But its still a deficit, just because part is missing. (just guessing)

Good morning everybody! I did something stupid yesterday and cut off part of my thumb. One finger typing is a pain but I'll keep following y'all since it looks like I won't be be doing anything else for a while.

I have a permanently injured digit. After a while you kind of forget about it.

I'm active duty, retired and went back to work. I'm a school resource officer at a residential school for troubled youth. I have to re-certify with my sidearm every year. Part of the recertification is shooting with your weak hand, left in my case. It's to simulate being able to continue combat with an injured hand. I think I'll have enough thumb to keep a decent grip with my left hand.
On a positive note I do get a little action every time I go to the bathroom because my wife has to help.
