I'm active duty, retired and went back to work. I'm a school resource officer at a residential school for troubled youth. I have to re-certify with my sidearm every year. Part of the recertification is shooting with your weak hand, left in my case. It's to simulate being able to continue combat with an injured hand. I think I'll have enough thumb to keep a decent grip with my left hand.
On a positive note I do get a little action every time I go to the bathroom because my wife has to help.
Oh no, all the guys are gonna go cut their thumbs now.
