Just start listening again.  It's too easy to get sucked in by headlines, newscasts, opinions, Facebook, talk radio, etc.  There's only so much you can do to make a difference, and the problems of the world can seem overwhelming.

Just help one person at a time. Give to charities when you can.  Share.  Recognize beauty in the small things. Find one good thing for every bad thing you hear. Be grateful.

If you let terrorists take away your love of music, they've won.  I think we are better than that.

I started paying attention to the world events after 9-11 too. DH s a bigger news junky them me but he only became one after thing 1 was born. Lol he kept telling me "These things matter now!" Lol i married a man who only watched the news for the weather and sports scores, ended up with my dad . There may be little we can do, but we are better, more responsible, if we are informed.

I guess we just disagree....I hated leaving work at 5 and it being dark already

Lol we agree we hate the dark, just not whe it is the worst.

I agree - being informed allows us to make better choices. Not saying we should hide our heads in the sand, but we still need to realize that there are millions of wonderful things that happen every day that you never hear about. Certainly not on the news.

I truly believe there are more good people than bad. But I think listening too much to all the mainstream negativity can be harmful.

I'm seriously thinking about going and getting a new set of speakers...my dog tore up my MTX double 15" woofer speakers when he was a puppy....I'm so out of touch I don't even know what is a good brand of speakers. I know I want something good....my system right now is Yamaha......it's great if you like loud....but my speakers are all huge.

We're still running the Cerwin Vega D-5s we bought when we were dating...32 years ago. Good speakers are good speakers.

Denon receiver, Audio Technika professional turntable. Vintage, but solid.

Walleye is about as close to heaven as I'll ever get...I gave the last few I caught away as I have a a bunch on the freezer.....Little Lake used to be a premier walleye lake....then it took a nose dive....for a few years you couldn't catch one for nothing....it was nice to sees it making a comeback this year...those little ones I caught this winter were really a good sign that things are improving. A few years back all you could catch we're bigger ones but there wasn't any little ones coming up to take their place.....now after a few years of nothing they are starting to come back....as far as news hound I've been one since the days in the military.....I was in the service under Reagan...so I started to pay attention....he was Scary president to be serving under. Heck I was actually involved in the bombing of lybia without even knowing it. The KC135 tankers that were used were from K. I. Sawyer AFB.....,I probably put the fuel on them.....so I was already a news junkie before 911... But that was when I first started listening to talk radio...

I know what your saying....I loved my Yamaha system...but the wife is complaining about the size of my speakers so I need to find smaller stuff with good sound.
Heck she even complains about the size of our TV though. I could say something but I'm not opening any Windows....
