If the want for a docile rooster outweighs any sentimental attachment to Armand, I'd definitely give Oz a shot with him. I've had a bad rooster, and it just disrupts the entire tranquility of the flock. I didn't know how much more enjoyable good roosters were until we got Fabio and Silas

I was really just venting. He's fine 99% of the time. He really only comes at me when the girls follow me faster than he does. Then he comes running and gives me the eye, ya know?

I'm very sentimentally attached to him, and I want to see how he behaves with a bigger flock, once I put some of these babies in with him and the girls. But if he gets any worse, I won't stand for too much.

oh and this one is pretty interesting too.......like the barring on the feathers, feathered feet and a little crest.......

I like the looks of this bird. Maybe some silkie and serama?

that one has just the tiniest bit of muff.

I think with this hatch, I am going to band all the chicks that come from green or blue eggs.......those that don't sell, will go into a separate pen. I will try to keep a pen of interesting looking birds that lay colored eggs......

eta: so our order from efowl....25 total chicks ordered......22 dead on arrival, and the last three died within two days.........they refunded our money. made the same order with Mcmurray, due to ship the week of April 4.

That sucks. I am sorry.

So glad you got a refund, and so glad McMurray could fill the order so soon. A little delay, but I'll be shocked if you don't get a better shipment from McMurray

I just got in a big box from Utah, will know in a couple of days how they did. And how the eggs from TN fared too...

I got 15 Appenzeller Spitzhaubens from upstate NY, 13 are thriving, 2 clears.

I'm also at about 800ft elevation. That's another reason I wanted Sid to get the first. I'll send him as many eggs as I can get from now-Monday, probably 30 or so, so hopefully he'll have 2 dozen good ones to set
