Yes, on some nights we actually go out and need to lock them up before we go.  It's work, but they go.

Absolutely... drakes of any variety *can be* a pain sometimes, but that's a drake/hormones thing...

Oh no, I never should have opened that door...I've done lost one Phumb ! Y'all been hiding that thread! I have about three acres surrounded by forest and pasture land. No neighbors to speak of. My goal is to build a large chicken (poultry ) garden.

I'll be jealous! I can't have Calls. I have a couple of close neighbors. Plus, I'm too chicken (lol) to clip wings and I'm not equipped to house those that can fly.

yes my ducks put themself away at night and wait for me to come out and shut them in....as for good ducks for beginners I don't know...I got Khaki Campbell and they aren't supposed to be good pets but mine are so spoiled that they must not know they are K.C.'s

So, what do you want them for? Pets, eggs or meat? Any or all? Bug and slug patrol? Pretty yard ornaments?

If you be more specific on why and what you want, I bet we could narrow it down for you...

Clupping wings is easy and simple once you do the first... it's only when you got a lot to do that is hard... but the guilt trip is the worst... :/
