French frogs

I love Leghorns! Silvers are so pretty! Hope they all hatch for you!

Thanks! I have a white leghorn that was a bonus chick from a hatchery. I like her. Nice big white egg every day. The silvers are potential show quality. This is my first foray into higher quality bred chickens, and I'm nervous. Plus I should be getting some Am chicks next week if everything goes well with the hatch!

I've got 3 chicks out now. 2 mutts and a silver leghorn. No other pips in the other 9 leghorn eggs. Right now that one leghorn chick is one expensive chick, so I'm still hoping something happens with a few of the other eggs.

Congrats! Hope you have good luck with the others.

I used to have a flock of light brown Leghorns and they were beautiful !

Friday, someday after I'm good with chickens, will you sell me some Orloffs?

Wonder if real snowshoes for ducks exist?

I'll send you eggs whenever you want.

Chicks, maybe next year.

The breed, in general, is in rough shape, so mine are nowhere near proposed SOP birds. Honestly, there are much better Orloffs out there - although they are few and far between. The Orloff club is working on the 5 APA breeders for 5 years prior to APA acceptance part, and are basing their SOP on the one from the UK.

But mine are from good stock and are nice representations of the breed. Let me know..

Thanks! That's one of SC's AM babies. The other was Lilly, she's a nine year old White Plymouth Rock and the flock matron.

I like it too! Beautiful chick.

Y'all don't get gun shy on me now. I'm sending out Silkie eggs for Mothers Day gifts. :)

Mine is almost done. One lavender just hatched, I can see the other rocking, but still hasn't pipped. I believe the last golden sebright is DIS. Everything else hatched!! 13 out of 15 at this point, still holding out hope for the last LO.

Hoping you get lots more! Keep us posted :fl

The earliest I'll be able to start with chickens would be this Fall. I'm thinking next Spring maybe I can buy some Orloffs from ya.

X2!

You going to get an incubator, Deb?

I'm sorry, just don't see the appeal of Silkies.

Kind of like looking for a dog, and getting a Pomeranian.

I'm glad some people like them though, would hate for them all to be homeless since they are so defenseless.
