lol.......well have a little unfair advantage.........kind of what I do for money.
had to revise, forgot to show the drain for the duck pond goes to the garden and a greenhouse.
Good morning Deb. !
howdy Oz.......Morning Berts! Are you in the flood zone!?
Awesome! Hope they hatch a lot to have even more come visit me this fall.
Frankly, I'm shocked that nobody's commented on all the scoring I'm doingThen again, Mr. P makes enough jokes about scoring every night for weeks :rolleyes
Hope so maybe I can sneak a pic... But I don't want to disturb them.... I've been chased before... .jeez they can be mean if you get to close to their nest
One day when I took my little mare out for a ride we had a very surprise encounter with a pair of nesting Canadian geese --- that was the day I learned that falling off a horse is a LOT harder on you at nearly 40 than it was when I was a teenager. Those geese had ZERO fear of my 900 pound horse, the horse on the other hand was convinced she was about to die.

Drive safely Walnut! Hawk is doing greatGood morning. Last full day of travel. One of the eggs in the hatcher had a hole in the pointy end that I missed when setting. It went into lockdown with a second large air cell. Can't wait to see how it does!
Thanks! Drat, sorry about his beak. Glad your hubby doesn't have to make as many trips. That's a long drive! No kidding! Good morning Deb![]()
Hello, K! Thanks!
I'll definitely let ya know. I'm sure ready to hit the bottle any time.

Adorable, tiny baby duck birb! Travel safely home! Fingers crossed for the egg baby.
Good morning all.
Good morning WV! They sure are pretty!Good morning everyone! A couple more pics of the little lovelies before their new owner picks them up this evening. I'm very pleased with the looks of these 3, they look even better than the last 2, and I have 4 more in the bator on day 10. This buyer also wants 4 of my leftover bantams from the last hatch. So I will only be left with a pair of silver duckwing OEGB's. I'm happy with that!![]()

They're good sized!awesome looking little ones WV! well it would appear, that ducks will be making an appearance on the BertS homestead, sooner than origianlly planned. found some free ducks locally, about 3 months old.for now, they will stay in the main chicken yard, until I decide if we want more or not.![]()
Nice work!this is my tentative plan. we had already planned on some ducks .![]()
That's a great idea!So true -- we had one duck "gifted" to us (DH was a recruiter for the USMC, one of the guys he contracted had this duck......we had a pond.........which apparently meant it was a "perfect solution" when he had to ship out for the duck to come to us) -- which quickly became three because Judy Duck needed friends, and someone to teach her how to be a duck since she had been raised as a lap pet and had no idea how to be a duck. Congrats on the new ducks! I love the wildlife babies that appear every spring. We have a pair of ducks that have nested on our pond for the last three years running -- just waiting for this year's babies to show up following mama duck around. That's really sweet! Beautiful photos of a beautiful girl! Thank youMy kind of royalty! Outstanding -- it is sad to see that so many outlets like that can't/won't take non-commercial goods. I get it, the whole food safety thing, but it is frustrating as heck to have good, perfectly useable food that could go to hungry folks and not be able to go that route to get it to them. Our local one can't distribute them themselves, but do have my name/number and have contacted me from time to time about a family in need, etc - and I also watch the local B/S/T page as a lot of times folks will post there in need of help and I'll offer up some eggs. For the most part I don't have an excess anymore, though, as on top of my regular customers I have DD and her fiance who come down a couple times a month to pick up eggs (her fiance had never had "real eggs" before he met her, he is HOOKED!) and I use gift eggs as a thank you for my neighbors who have welcomed our girls with open arms.![]()
Good morning Oz!Good morning Deb. !
Morning Dan. No more losses? Don't let your guard down! He'll be back.
