Yep. I got these from a pretty well recognized breeder, so I had planned to get more from him. I wasn't sure if I wanted to mix the bloodlines, but I think I need to get more somehow.

Aha, gotcha... never heard where they came from... dunno how these measure up to those, but seen them post before... had good feedback...

I'm not entirely sure why I worry about crossing lines though. I'll probably never show. If it clucks and lays an egg I shouldn't judge, right?

It's not about showing, or laying eggs, or even specifically quality... it's about what YOU want... if you just want pretty egg layers, get pretty egg layers... if you want a specific breed, get that breed... if you want top quality, SOP, get those... and if you want a specific breeders line, then go with them...

It all depends on what you want out of it and what you are willing (and able) to put into it... just don't ever spend money that you aren't willing to lose on hatching eggs... otherwise, go with chicks or starter birds... in the end, YOU need to be happy with what you have...

Very well said. Even knowing I'll probably never show, I still want to get the best quality I can find. I've thought about trying to find chicks, like I am with the Ams I'm getting, but I haven't had any luck finding any quality breeders that ship chicks. But I haven't exhausted all resources in the search either.
