I got lots of stuff .

I'm trying to get rid of my stuff, my parents are trying to get rid of their stuff by trying to give it to me.

I don't need any more stuff!!!

There are boxes out in the warehouse that I haven't opened in 18 months. Time to start making Goodwill runs.

Well hell yeah.

I have motorcycle parts. None for the new ones, but parts for my former Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzukis, and Honda Magna.

I have car parts. None except an incorrect rim for my Charger (wrong finish), but plenty for my former '66 LeMans and for both '68 and '69 Firebirds, and a handful of parts for the 'Cudas I used to have.

I have parts for parts for who knows what. When my parents moved to Texas, my dad left all his spare parts and hardware. I cleaned out his garage and put it in my garage. Of course, I didn't quite yet have a garage, but I made do until I did. And now he has 4 times the stuff he used to have in his barn and garage now.

When I moved in there were four areas filled with the In-laws junk (it would have been 5 but I got mean and threatened to throw away everything in the living room). First project was a room in the basement, turned it into DH office. Second project was the garage in the barn, managed to get rid of everything there except Dear Aunt Roses piano. A opossum had made a nice home in it one winter, so it is really high quality, but I cannot physically move the thing. I just got done with the Garage. It still has some junk in it, I told FIL he had a week and I was having a bonfire, need to tell SIL the same thing. The final project will be an upstairs room i want to turn into my library. I get that done and my house will finally be completely free of other people's junk....I am not a hoarder, i have lots of junk, something's I am emotionally attached to, but I just feel better when I have less junk laying around.

I'm getting there. I collected a lot of stuff over the last 30 years and ended up with a bunch of unwanted stuff from my late grandmother's house as well. And two kids who have been buying stuff as they prepare to leave the nest, they've taken over 700 sq ft between the two, plus two cars and a motorcycle's space in the driveway, and half the sunroom for hockey bags. I started trashing stuff that I don't need. First pass is happening now. I pulled a 40 pound dog food bag's worth of junk out of one closet this weekend.

We're making headway, too. (Finally) When we were preparing to move, we first sold our cabin. All that stuff came to the house. Luckily we bought the house here in NM and could move some of the stuff before we put the house in So Cal on the market. Then we moved the rest of our stuff here.

Would have been smarter to get rid of a lot more of it beforehand, but we both worked full-time right up until the time we moved. It seemed easier to just shove it in a rental truck and dump it here in the warehouse.

Still going through boxes that were moved from the cabin, down the mountain to our house, then across the desert to NM.

PS: We had lived in our house in SoCal for 26 years. Lots of accumulated stuff!!

I've between at least somewhat out spoken... How anyone could think I was a Hillary supporter is beyond me.... :/......:frow
I have two Kohler cast iron 8 hp horizontal shaft engines, one came off my log splitter and another bought for it, with electric start to boot. I never got around to honing and putting new rings on one, and grabbed a baby snow thrower motor and installed that for a temporary. Six years later, is it still considered temporary? :lau Now I should get rid of those wonderful Kohlers but I will probably regret it if I do.. Those things are tanks.
I have lots of"temporary" fixes that are years old.....:lau
