I'll stick with earthquakes - wait, left those behind. I think now a forest fire in the Bosque would be the natural disaster I'd need to worry about.

I have never been through a hurricane, but have seen my fair share of tornadoes. Hurricanes frighten me more. I do not argue, the power of a tornado, just the size of the affected area, and so your chances of being directly hit. That and usually, though yes there have resently been exceptions, all one needs do is sit in their basement to be safe.
I would never live here without a basement, people in trailer parks here are crazy, but tornadoes do not scare me. Perhaps one gets accustomed to the danger of the area
