French frogs

Me and my phone just had to get a little juice :)

JWB, sorry you've lost some flock. Good luck with the vet!

Ravyn, who are you trying to kid... Cut back :gig
You might be trying to reduce breeds, but will headcount actually decrease? :);)

At least for a while, it had better... feed consumption is outrageous right now and just maintenance is too much... and it's gonna get colder and worse... :/

bird color is of no concern, these are for fun and darker eggs than RSL are what I seek.

I'm keeping the darkest layers... and think the cockerel will be up to snuff by Spring... should be covered... I don't usually get rid of the older before testing the younger, but I gotta cut back... :/

At 203 give or take, no more than 205, the connective tissue breaks down like butter.  It's good from 170 up, but I like pull-with-fingers tender pork.  If you need bear claws, sumpin's wrong.

Made 5 pounds of sausage, letting the casings dry before smoking them, just plain smoked sausages.

Non spicy smoked sausage??? :drool

I hear ya. That's why I'm not setting any more for a while. (well, someone told me I couldn't too ;))

I just keep getting encouragement to set more... good grief the enabling here is awful... :gig

Yeah, its amazing how much less feed you go through when you cut back.  Of course, the survivors have been eating Christmas leftovers and that has helped reduce feed consumption, too.

Ummm... yeah... leftovers don't make it past my OH to get to them... :lau
