So....Seeing I got some money for Christmas. .......I went and bought more AC eggs from Pyxis! !! She is such a bad influence on me.. ;).

So......hopefully I will get more!!!!!

I know. So many breeds, so many decisions to make. For those with the time and space, I say go for it!

I'm always going to have a small flock, so I can't let my self get hooked on too many breeds. One or two good quality purebred trios or quads, and some random layers for a colorful egg basket is what works best for me right now.

I've had Welsummers and Barnevelders... Wellies were gorgeous, but too flighty for me... Barnies seemed to eat a lot for their size...

A good line of Wellies are sexable at hatch, though... :)

It seems like the Wellies have been hit or miss from people I've talked to. You love them or hate them.

The Barnies I hadn't heard they ate more, thanks for the insight. I think the hens look awesome, and I like darker eggs balanced with good egg production. Everything I've heard about marans is that they aren't as good of layers. Any experience with them?
