French frogs

It seems like the Wellies have been hit or miss from people I've talked to. You love them or hate them.

The Barnies I hadn't heard they ate more, thanks for the insight. I think the hens look awesome, and I like darker eggs balanced with good egg production. Everything I've heard about marans is that they aren't as good of layers. Any experience with them?

Everything all depends on the lines you get... my Marans lay really well... they are kinda... hmmm... non personalities, I guess you could say, lol... no aggression whatsoever, but just there... hard to describe what I mean, lol...

Interesting. I guess I may have to reconsider the possibility of Marans as well

I hear Ameraucanas and Cream Legbars don't lay well either, but I've always gotten a steady 6 eggs a week from each...

I would like Ameraucanas as well. My Easter eggers do ok, but not really great. How are your Roos personalities? We had a hatchery Easter Egger that got retired because of a bad attitude.

Wouldn't know about the AMs, but my Legbar is a good layer!

I just like the heavier breeds better than the lighter Med breeds.  She'll probably be my last Legbar.

Legbars are ok, but I MUCH prefer my Am's... though they are smarter and more of a PITA to keep out of everythjng, lol... had the whole flock on the back deck today, begging...

I only ever had 1 Am roo with a bad attitude... and I got him when he was already 5 or 6 months old... he went away quick, lol... my roos are all protective but not aggressive... I respect their space and they respect me as well... they aren't lap pets, but I can handle each and every one if needed...

That's awesome. I really like the look of Ams. Maybe I should start looking into getting some of them.
