Well joy of joys, our deep freeze in the basement quit working at some point and we did not notice. Fortunately it mostly had just ribs and round steak 8n it (those do not sell well) But my house now smells like i have a rotting corpse buried in my basement.

To put a positive spin on things, my animals are going to be earlting very well this winter. Today the chickens got a pound of ground beef, and the cats and dogs each got their own rib.

I do not know how i am going to get the smell out....

Once the freezer is out, put some trays of vinegar in the basement. Plastic or glass containers only... For a while it will be a mask, but it's much safer than ammonia or bleach, especially if you have furnace, water heater, etc down there.

Thanks! Willing to give it a try. The freezer was made in the 70s so it is one of those huge heavy monsters. I am going to have to just clean it out and clean the blood under (it leaked) it as good as possible until we can get several someone's to help move it.
