It's funny.... Us so called "yankees"
Don't think nothing of it.
When I was on the military everyone from the south had this dislike of Yankees.
I find it odd.
I had more to say but wouldn't want to offend anyone or bring out the haters.

Actually, I have quite a few Yankee friends. Usually they are the only ones that can appreciate my sarcasm

I believe that, too. We had a pretty diverse ethnicity in my school. Sure there are plenty of racists here, but that's not just a southern thing.
Now, I'm not condoning bullying... but I am so sick of seeing the PSAs about it. People bullied the crap out of me. I was the poor white kid living near poor blacks and rich whites. I'm not complaining, it showed me the good and bad of both sides. A little social turmoil can help prepare you for the real world, work politics, shady salesmen, etc...
I'm sure that they are much more caring, liberal, and sweet kids, but a certain amount of cynicism helps

I think there is a balance. Bullying used to stop over the weekend/summer. With social media, there isn't always the break. But I think being able to handle a little teasing is important.

Or ignorance. A lot of that down here. My best friend is seriously a Mexican immigrant, and he is the finest man I've ever known

I agree. Lots of racists against blacks where I grew up. I think that was primarily because there were none in the county.

I grew up around Detroit.....Where I live now it's all Finlanders and Indians. Seems to be just as much racism though. Personally I hate it.
Simple minds......unable to think a complex thought.

Anyone ever seen a dog herd pigs? It is an amazing thing when your dog goes from to excited to think to figuring out how to herd pigs with out making them run, in about 5 minutes.

WITHOUT you telling him what to do
