Don't drink it Dan, just swish it around in your mouth for 30 seconds.  It's a natural way to get the bacteria level down.  1 tsp salt dissolved in half a cup of warm water.

Swish with, not drink--BIG difference! You want a (measuring) teaspoon of salt to 8 ounces of water.

ETA: Friday beat me Her concentration would taste even worse, but don't swallow either one--let's just say you'd be adding stomach acid to your sore tooth...
