French frogs

Three and four just hatched. Will post pics later in the morning. My dear wife has informed me that lockdown means Lockdown!. Three silkies and our own cross, an Orpilkie. Our nine year old BO hen played cougar with our little silkie Cockrell. After all the work she put in training that little rooster we had to try to raise a chick for her.

We get black rat snakes in the coop every spring we just relocate them. One was close to nine feet long

. I accidentally closed one up in the run door one night last year. I'm not scared of them but I would have been if that sucker would have fallen on me!

Here's our review of the incubator we used that's posted on that thread:

My review of the Farm Innovations 4250 incubator. This is a styrofoam incubator with a plastic shell. It's is forced air with digital temperature control and digital humidity sensor. It also came with an automatic egg turner. We're in our first hatch with this incubator and have to say it has performed well. This was our maiden voyage as far as incubation and with eggs shipped in winter. We are having a successful hatch! Temperature and humidity remained constant throughout the entire period. We did use a confirmation thermometer and hygrometer. The only issue is at day eighteen when increasing the humidity. The available channels are not enough to get the humidity high enough so we simply added small sponges to achieve the desired level. The incubator then maintained those levels just as before. We're are quite pleased with the performance and value of the Farm Innovations 4250. Ours did not come with the included candeler but I've heard it is not that good. Farm and Fleet contacted Farm Innovations and they were going to mail me the candeler. $109 with free shipping at Farm and Fleet. Farm Innovations has a great customer support service. Their representative was pleasant and knowledgeable when I called on the phone.

nice review......most people seems only write stuff negative. Good morning all ......freaking cold cracked the heat this morning.....feel like crawling back under them covers in the heated water bed.

you like them better than me course I have the 4200 and would never by another. candler is junk for dark eggs already had to replace turner motor tops don't fit right . also you have sticky chick so your humidity has been to high through the entire incubation and maybe your temp as well . before you hatch again calibrate you hygrometer . getting the humidity up has never been a problem .with mine . I run dry and it is still to high . the 4200s were analog I took them out and replaced them .. they are as good as any Styrofoam incubator I guess but they must be in a very stable environment to work well . I.E. a room with central heat and air would be best . I will not incubate in them again bought three older cabinet GQFs and incubated in the 4200 and hatched in one cabinet that is set up to hatch .In the same environment the GQF cabinet was able to drop humidity to 32% had to add water to get it up to hatch still only got a 50% hatch rate. but the damage had already been done in the farm innovators . but when I called them they said follow the instructions .several hundred dollars in shipped eggs later . I figured it out on my own and then came here to the byc and found I was right . but really glad yours are working for you . yea on the chicks hope maybe you get more
