I made 1 joke, won't rub that in any more... SC has a great base of stock to work with... but seriously, I needed to hear that... I am super critical and much harder on my own stock than anyone else's...
Nope, SC's combs are better... mine isn't horrible, but has room for improvement... his blue's comb is absolutely amazing...

No birds are perfect, but it is really nice to have birds that the first response isn't "Do you have a hatchet?"

I heard of a book on breeding & genes I believe the title was Start where your at with what you have. Anyway I have the title and author saved on eBay & it's never come up once offered for sale. I think it's pretty old.

It is... Jerry recommended that... I'm talking about the SOP book... first 40 pages is all about good/bad in all breeds...

I have a lot to learn! It will be good to get the real thing!

Most suggestions I have gotten here and at the ABC say that blue/blue washes out the blues, but makes the best splash
We all knew Ravyn's co... Rooster was bigger than mine
I like the more compact look of my rooster's comb, and I think that is the more desirable, but hers has a better profile. A lot has to do with how a rooster is posing, too. The picture of Johnny with the girls makes his chest look huge.

Didn't you say you were getting yours from Max Strawn? I've heard good things about his birds, so you should get some awesome chicks...

I know I know. I'm telling you I'm waiting for the 2016 edition. I asked on the Heritage Breed thread and they said there is a new SOP book this year coming out this month.

Besides I read most of the 1920 version on google books and I don't think anything has changed for Wyandottes.

ETA: Next version is supposed to have BCM in it.
