@abbevilleoz @RavynFallen thanks for all the barring sex link info! I knew the males would get the barring but didn't know they should have the white head dot. Nor the stuff about the blue, so I appreciate all that. I'm finally starting to learn some of that stuff. I just started hatching cute chickens. Didn't care about all that stuff! But its fun trying to understand it all, so I appreciate the conversation!

Was looking back at young pics of both Armand and Katherine last night, and I dont think it will take much longer for some of this stuff to be more obvious, but now i will watch these little ones much closer.

Remember the juvie Ohiki pair? Barred boy and black girl? Those had head spots... will look to see if the new babies do too...

*I think* it's not as clear with blue though... haven't looked it up since I was working with black...

Good Morning Everybody!  Yea I was up all night talking about your chicks with Ravyn!  Go figure!  I was about asleep, too until she told me jerryse had lavender cuckoo AM's and I saw pics.  I think I dozed just in time for the alarm to go off.  If you thought I hassled you about Armand, wait til his chicks feather out!

I hope all goes well at the doc visit!  Still praying for you guys.

If you're really interested in those, PM him... Jerry is one of the founding breeders of Am's so you can't get much better than that for a start...

I need to find me some ducklings. I'm sad. none hatched. and my friend called me and said that his wood duck eggs boxes are all under water! He went and saved 56 duck eggs and stuck them in the incubator. So I guess I am taking a 3.5 hour road trip to Mississippi to pick up ducklings.

I have Call ducklings now... and some juvie pairs...

I guess I'm a little slow, but just found out that greenfire farms is just down the road from me.......only about an hour from where I work....

they have Marans.......well they have a chit load of birds....

Honestly, I would find a reputable breeder who started from theirs over getting direct from them... they did a lot for importing new breeds, but they're really a propagator not a breeder... :/

If I were to buy one breed from GFF, it would be the BCM

Doc appointment went well. Everything on schedule as expected. Took the stitches out, a few were painful. She missed the ones from the drain tube hole, but I think I can handle those!
