French frogs

Yes.  I've been following a few people working on them for a while.  Was thinking of ordering hatching eggs, but that person quit breeding them.

I like mottled/spotted/spangled birds.
My mottled were the d'Uccle. I took a few days off, that's why I've been gone. Sold that whole flock, took out that small coop, then built a much larger coop and moved the BCM to that pen. Moved the juvie AMs to the grow out pen, moved the indoor brooder babies to the outdoor brooder, then moved the incubator babies to the indoor brooder. It was a full weekend...

I bet they are really pretty. I'll have to look for pics.

Found this chart of feather differences.

Sounds productive!

And dang, I never got any of those eggs

But the gal that I shipped eggs to in NC, last November, owes me some d'uccle eggs. Her hens weren't laying at the time, but originally came from tjschickens. Hopefully I will still get them someday.

Does sound like a lot of work! I know you were a bit attached to the d'Uccles - hope they went to a good home.

I think I'm going to move the babies out today after I check the mousetraps. Wanted to get the local field mice population down a bit before they moved out there.

You're better off that way. TJ's birds are much better than mine were

I loved them, but I'm moving more towards the AMs and BCM now. I really didn't want to build another pen. We are keeping the Silkies, but that will be it for bantams for us

I was just teasing. You never were very complimentary on those chicks, but I thought they were pretty anyway. But TJ's are very nice, so I hope to end up with some eventually. They have always been on my bucket list. (now if Oz will just stop adding to my bucket list!)

I suppose you will keep your mixed pen for the pretty eggs? And have your silkies been spitting out any babies this season yet?

They were very pretty birds, but nowhere near SOP. I am keeping the hybrid/EE pen for the egg variety. People love that rooster, too, so those chicks are selling good too.
There are about 5 silkie babies in the pen right now, but there are 4 sitting
