What will you use as a sealer? I have done a few pieces of yard art and one I just used the cheapo spray on Krylon and then on my Batman I used a super expensive outdoor sign sealer I bought from a sign making warehouse. I must say Krylon has held up AWESOME and now the other one...Im so super sad because I worked really hard on Batman and he is peeling. I did meticulous prep work too. Your signs are very cute. I am planning to sell mine for $3.00 a dozen OR $2.50 IF they bring me a carton. I hope to have cartons filled with the colors of my avatar picture. Babies are brooding upstairs!
I'm sealing with Krylon satin, and really like it. Going to do 2-3 coats, including the raw edge. Guess I could leave the price blank so people could write in their own price?
Hmmmm...good question. How large are they? Would shipping cost a bundle? I have only glanced at that section once. Id like to know if other folks check it out too. I make other stuff Id be interested in selling but....hmmmm...Ill have to investigate this. Try craigslist though. In the farm and garden section. I love that "department"!
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone; I really appreciate it.
I've been working this evening on giving the hens more detail. I think I'm almost there, but not quite. I do think I'll try to offer some on here. Can't imagine shipping would be more than $5, as they are not heavy. So, do you think I should start at $15 plus shipping? I do have a few that are already sealed. Could maybe ask a little more for the newer ones with more detail that take more time. What do you think?
Kansaseq go to http://postcalc.usps.gov/ and get shipping quote. Make sure you do #2 and #5. You will need the dimensions and approximate weight. Pretend you are shipping it to me in zip 93619 and see how much it would be. THEN you will know if the item will move or not. For example if you sell it for $15 but the shipping is $15 that may narrow your market.
