Thanks for the offer but link is not working for me.
 
Not sure I could deal with a chick. The feed store only has babies.

They truly are adorable. I've seen them at the feed store, but lighting, temp control, etc. Maybe one day.

Actually... if you use a heating pad, you don't have to worry about lighting or temp control... it's all very natural. I would suggest getting 2 chicks (or 3) because they thrive much better with others of their same age. You could brood them in a dog crate right where Miss Crumpet lives and they will get acquainted very quickly. Free range time together out in the yard will help them bond but give plenty of space for chicks to run away if needed. I brooded 3 chicks in the coop with my 2 older girls and they were all roosting together in just 4-5 weeks.
