Love your pics, Jordan, and it was great to see you too! Hey, the Amerecauna egg I told you about is developing. I'm really excited! I'll let you know if it hatches & send you a pic. I'm about to give my MIL her first batch of my eggs - my standards are laying like crazy - and I'm praying that your girl will lay one more blue one for me. Passing along the blue egg instead of trying to incubate it is really a sign of true love.

Your Dominique (sp) continues to lay the very best eggs of my bunch, and I'm including several of those, but I think MIL will think a blue egg is especially cool (who wouldn't?). Anyway, loved seeing the pics. Stay in touch!

VERY pretty birds - all of them, in their own rights!

I went to a poltry show in Frankenmuth, MI last fall, and the thing I found most interesting was the HUGE variety of rooster crows! I decided that some day, I absolutely MUST have a Jersey Giant - what a beautiful low-toned crow they have!

Thanks, Michelle! Definitely, you can ditch any baby showers for a show, its more fun.

BTW: Check out my nestbox in the Coops section! The guy selling them is in Ripon. If you want his email or #, give me a PM.

Thanks, Laura! It was great seeing you too. Did Bella name that little cochin yet? That's great! I cant wait to see what hatches. I was thinking, and if it is the Splash's child, it will be blue because Splash X Black = Blue! Definitely, finding a blue egg in the box is too cool. I love getting a bright blue egg in with all of the brown ones. Im glad the Dom is laying again! I just got rid of my last two hens that came in the order with her, its kind of sad! Sure will, make sure you keep me updated on the egg!

No problem, Mark. I love showing everyone pics when they couldnt be there!

They really are, arent they? I totally agree with you. The standards have those big, gurgly crows and the bantams have little sissy crows, lol. Its just really fun to see all of the different breeds. And you can usually find some for cheap too! Not that its a good thing for me, but still, lol.

Jordan,

Bella very quickly settled on "Olivia" for the new bantam Cochin. It definitely seems to fit her. I'm pretty hooked on Cochins at the moment. You probably shouldn't have mentioned that white one you have. LOL

OK, that's good to know about the coloring on the potential chick to be. I'll try not to jinx things by candleing too often, and hopefully I'll be able to send you a photo of a new little peep in 17 days or so...

Now I've gotta go check out your nest box. Did you see the ad on Craig's list for enormous nest boxes at 25.00 per unit? Anyway, I'll go take a look at yours.

Laura

Olivia is a great name for her! Cochins are great, but I dont need any, lol. I have a great quality little white cochin bantam that would be great friends with Olvia. *Hint Hint!*

Back away from the bator, lol. What color are you hoping for?? I hope it hatches!

Ummm, Laura....That's what I got!
