I had my BYC t-shirt on so I could be identified, and I tried to find everyone, but I obviously still missed meeting some of you. We'll do better next time.

Thanks, Lori! Its just so terrible when I love taking pics and they come out like this,lol. I know they arent the worst, but they definitely arent the best!

I had on my BYC shirt too, but it was so stinkin cold you could barely see it under my sweater! It was seriously colder inside than it was outside!

As soon as I sent the last post, I tracked down your "nest box" post & saw that it was the same one I noticed on Craig's List. So you're obviously a Craig's List addict too!! The email I got in response to my inquiry was a little "stiff," is the best way to put it, so I didn't follow up again. Were they selling anything other than nest boxes? I asked if they had any other chicken-related items available, given that the huge number of nest boxes seemed to signal that they were getting out of the chicken business, but got no response to that inquiry. Anyway, looks like you got a great deal! Congrats!

By the way, your Amerecauna Splash is really ruling the roost here. I moved my roosters all to a new "rooster pen" in the pasture, but he has managed to get out & get back into our yard, where everyone else is, for the past three days. I think I finally figured out his exit route, so with any luck this will be the last day. I have a black giant Cochin that I let roam free - she's probably my most pet like of all my chickens - and I've been worried about her because of some of the more aggressive boys (like your guy) so that's why I finally decided to move all the roos to one spot. She's been cowering in her pen instead of jumping on top of our porch & hanging, like she always used to. When I want to breed down the road, I have lots of tractors set up for that purpose.

Yep, that's where it came from! Im a new Craigslist addict, I just started really checking it out last week. I wasnt even sure I was going to get one until my friend started telling me about a Craigslist add with some nice nestboxes for $25! I hadnt even asked about it and he had already gone and checked them out,lol. The answer I got was just a short reply and a phone number, but we called anyways! The guy was really nice. They arent getting out of chickens, they just put in automatic belts that the eggs roll onto so they dont have to go through and collect hundreds and hundreds of eggs. Thanks!

Is he being mean? He was never mean here, just a little spooked. I hope he's being a good guy for ya! He seems to like the girls,lol, so Im not suprised he's finding his way out. But then again, what rooster doesnt like girls?
